Letter A with United States flag ๐Ÿณ๏ธ

New: Downloadable Letter Flag Images for Every Alphabet

We just shipped something we're really excited about: every letter on our alphabet pages now has a beautiful, downloadable image that combines the letter with its country's national flag.

What's New

  • Letter Flag Images - Each character is displayed with a knockout effect over the national flag of its language's primary country
  • Right-Click to Save - No download buttons or popups. Just right-click the image and save it directly
  • Vector SVG Format - Crisp at any size, from tiny icons to huge posters. The files are tiny too
  • All 7 Languages - Works for English, Russian, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, and Chinese

Perfect For

  • Teachers - Create flashcards, worksheets, and classroom decorations
  • Parents - Make learning materials for kids at home
  • Designers - Use in educational apps or language learning content
  • Language Learners - Print them out and stick them on your wall

How to Use

1. Go to any alphabet page (like [English](/en/alphabet/en-us) or [Bengali](/en/alphabet/bn-bd))

2. Find the letter you want

3. Right-click the flag image

4. Select "Save Image As..."

5. Done! You've got a beautiful SVG

The images use the official national flags embedded directly in the SVG, so they work offline and load instantly. No external dependencies, no tracking, just clean vector graphics.

We think these look amazing and we hope you find creative ways to use them. Drop us a note if you make something cool with them!

What's New

  • Audio Pronunciations - Click the play button on any letter to hear how it sounds in American English
  • Phonetic Symbols - Each letter now shows its IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) notation so you know exactly how to pronounce it

Interactive world regions map with live timezone clocks ๐ŸŒ

We Added Spinning Planets to the Homepage (Because Why Not?)

So we were working on the homepage and thought: you know what this needs? A big spinning planet emoji that changes when you hover over it. Is it necessary? Absolutely not. Is it fun? You bet.

What We Built

Head to our homepage and you'll find a shiny new planet grid showing three regions:

  • Africa & Europe - Currently represented by Paris, because the Eiffel Tower deserves it
  • Americas - New York time, naturally (the city that never sleeps needs a clock)
  • Asia & Oceania - Shanghai's got this one covered

Each region shows a live clock that updates every second. Yes, every single second. We're committed to accuracy here.

The Fun Stuff

Here's what happens when you interact with it:

  • Hover Magic - Point your mouse at a region and watch the big planet spin and grow. It's like those old desk toys, but digital
  • Clock Faces That Change - The clock emojis actually show different times (๐Ÿ•, ๐Ÿ•‘, ๐Ÿ•’...). We didn't have to do this, but we did anyway
  • Sun and Moon - Is it daytime or nighttime there? The emoji tells you! โ˜€๏ธ for day, ๐ŸŒ™ for night. Revolutionary stuff
  • Sticky Planets - Once you hover, the planet stays changed. It's like the internet version of "you break it, you buy it" but friendlier

Why Did We Do This?

Honestly? Because adding a bouncing planet to your website is more fun than another boring form or pop-up. Also:

  • No Sign-Ups Required - Just hover and watch things spin. That's it
  • Works on Phones - Try it on your phone. The planet still spins. Magic
  • No Tracking - We're not watching what planets you hover over. We don't care. Live your life
  • Fast as Lightning - Loads instantly because we're not loading 47 JavaScript frameworks for a spinning emoji

Go ahead and give it a spin (pun absolutely intended). It's on the homepage, you can't miss it - it's the giant planet that starts showing off when you get close to it.
